This is the heart and soul of ITS Arcademy. The Library is home to 14,759 portfolios, a wave of creative thought moving across the last 20 years. Each box in this space contains a project. Each project started out as a thought, a seed, its germination unknown. A visionary, passionate and often unripe expression of fashion, developed in a guided path through stages - writing it down as a concept, sketching it out as a drawing, testing it as a prototype, right down to its very final outcome - emerging talents from all over the world, reacting to cultural phenomenons and historical landmarks, prove the ability of creativity to open up infinite perspectives. As if it weren’t enough, the Library is a one-of-a-kind collection of searchable - artistic and historical references, colors, materials, traditional and innovative techniques - tracing 20 years of contemporary fashion evolution answering a fundamental question: what is a portfolio? It is more than paper and fabric. It is a snapshot of a young creative’s world at the cusp of adulthood before their work is conditioned by the professional world or by a radical change of path. It is an experience, an intimate notebook of thoughts and hard work that creates perspectives of beauty.

Questo è il cuore e l’anima di ITS Arcademy, che risponde a una domanda fondamentale: cos’è un portfolio? Un portfolio è strumentale alla realizzazione di un progetto. Non è solamente carta e tessuto. È un’esperienza, un quaderno intimo di pensieri e duro lavoro che materializza prospettive di bellezza. Come un’onda di pensiero creativo, che attraversa gli ultimi 20 anni. La Library ospita 14.759 progetti, un tempio in continua crescita che celebra quella capacità unica della creatività di trasformare le idee in oggetti esistenti, dando forma a un processo che all’inizio era pensiero impalpabile. Ritrae giovani designer alla soglia della maturità, un attimo prima di venir forgiati da carriere professionali o di cambiare radicalmente strada. Ogni scatola di questo spazio contiene un progetto. Ogni progetto è nato come pensiero. Un seme, la cui germinazione all’inizio era sconosciuta. Un’espressione visionaria, spesso acerba, di una moda appassionata, libera e virtuosa. Guidati da pilastri fondamentali che permettono a quel pensiero di evolversi e prendere forma - scrivendo l’idea su carta, abbozzandola come disegno, testandola come prototipo, fino ad arrivare al risultato finale - i talenti emergenti di tutto il mondo, reagendo a fenomeni culturali e momenti storici, dimostrano che la creatività non ha confini e offre infinite prospettive. Come se non bastasse, la Library è una raccolta unica di dati accessibili - riferimenti artistici e storici, colori, materiali, tecniche tradizionali e innovative - che ripercorre 20 anni di evoluzione della moda contemporanea.

An diesem für uns magischen Ort sind rund 9.000 der 15.000 Portfolios, die wir in zwanzig Jahren erhalten haben, aufbewahrt. Die restlichen 6.000 Portfolios werden in einem anderen Raum des Archivs von Its Arcademy aufbewahrt, der extra Size Projekte enthält. Aber was ist ein PORTFOLIO?
Ein Portfolio ist die Brücke zwischen der Idee des Künstlers und der Verwirklichung dieser Idee. Die Portfolios zeigen uns, wie jeder Künstler das Konzept der Kreativität interpretiert hat und wie er eine Idee in etwas Materielles verwandelt hat.
Schaut euch nun die Vitrine in der Mitte an. Dort findet ihr ein Video, mit dem wir euch die Schritte zur Erstellung eines Portfolios zeigen möchten. Die LIBRARY ist für uns der Tempel des Projekts. Ein Ort, an dem wir den Gedanken zelebrieren, der durch einen kreativen Prozess entsteht und sich auf Papier, Stoff oder einem digitalen Medium materialisiert. Jedes Projekt wird in einer Box aufbewahrt. Ihr seid buchstäblich von sie umgeben. Jedes Projekt ist mit einem Strichcode versehen. Durch diesen Code können wir es in einer Datenbank ermitteln, die auch die Angabe seines Standortes enthält. Bald wird eine App zur Verfügung stehen, mit der ihr auf viele weitere Informationen zum Archiv selbst zugreifen könnt.
